THE BEACH CLUB AQUATICS TECHNICIAN
Job Summary:
Responsible and accountable for the overall operation, maintenance, and appearance of all swimming pools in accordance with Baldwin County Health Department regulations and Spectrum Resorts’ standards. This is a full-time overnight shift position.
Job Requirements:
Maintain proper water chemistry through routine testing, accurate interpretation of results, and precise chemical adjustments.
Add and adjust pool chemicals including chlorine, pH balancers, alkalinity increasers/decreasers, calcium hardness adjusters, and other treatment chemicals as required to maintain compliance with health department standards.
Calibrate, monitor, and adjust automatic chemical controllers and feeders to ensure consistent water quality.
Test water quality using approved reagent test kits and digital testing equipment; accurately interpret results to determine necessary corrective actions.
Identify and respond promptly to imbalanced water conditions to prevent safety hazards and equipment damage.
Maintain accurate daily operation and chemical treatment records in accordance with Baldwin County Health Department requirements.
Clean and inspect pools daily, including vacuuming, skimming debris, brushing pool walls, and ensuring overall cleanliness and safety of the pool area.
Monitor filtration and circulation systems to ensure proper operation.
Interact with guests in a friendly, professional, and hospitable manner.
Respond to minor maintenance-related guest needs and requests in a prompt and courteous manner.
Identify and report any maintenance or safety issues observed during routine duties to leadership in a timely manner.
Review and follow Chemical Safety Data Sheets (SDS), including proper handling, storage, and required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Maintain awareness of safety equipment locations, including eye wash stations.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership to support departmental and organizational goals
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Basic knowledge of pool chemistry and mechanical systems preferred
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS), health department regulations, and procedure manuals.
Ability to accurately complete and maintain daily maintenance and chemical logs.
Ability to interpret numerical data and apply corrective chemical calculations as needed.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The team member frequently uses hands and arms to handle, feel, grasp, and reach. The team member must often lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The ability to climb and safely stand on a ladder is required as needed.
The team member must be able to work safely in environments with chemical odors, dust, and moderate noise levels. This position routinely requires working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold temperatures, as well as in inclement weather conditions. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Compensation: $19.00 per hour

Paid Internship Program
Gain hands-on experience during college breaks. Spectrum Resorts offers internships in three areas of the resort. In Food & Beverage you can have the opportunity to experience different areas of F&B such as casual and coastal cuisine restaurants, poolside bar and grill, food trucks and club lounge. Rotation between positions and outlets included. In the Rooms Division you can learn about the guest experience from Reservations to Front Desk to Housekeeping. If you like working outdoors with young guests, our Activities Team may be the best fit for you. This internship includes planning and facilitating on-site activities such as organized games, arts and crafts, competitions and more.
